’’عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: وَعَدَنَا رَسُولُ اﷲِ صلیٰ الله عليه وآله وسلم فِي غَزْوَةِ الْهِنْدِ، فَإِنْ اسْتُشْهِدْتُ کُنْتُ مِنْ خَيْرِ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَإِنْ رَجَعْتُ فَأَنَا أَبُوهُرَيْرَةَ الْمُحَرَّرُ‘‘.

حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ہم سے غزوہ ہند کے بارے میں وعدہ فرمایا تھا، سو اگر میں (ابوہریرہ) شہید ہو گیا تو بہترین شہیدوں میں سے ہوں گا۔ اگر واپس آ گیا تو میں آزاد ابو ہریرہ ہوں گا‘‘۔

“If he (the Prophet) had invented false sayings concerning Us, We assuredly had taken him by the right hand and then severed his life-artery, and not one of you could have held Us off from him.” (Surah Al-Haqqah, 69:44-47)

Just as over fourteen centuries ago, when the Arabian Peninsula became the first land to embrace Islam, today it is India that holds the promise of embracing Islam fully.
